We’re happy to announce FM38’s participation in “Islands on the Air” with the addition of the first island repeater in the FM38 system. Located on Washington Island, WI, which is located six miles off the Door County mainland, the new repeater is sponsored by the WI9DX Washington Island DX club on 440.300+ tone 123.0. This completes continuous UHF analog FM coverage along western Lake Michigan from South of Chicago to the tip of the Door County peninsula including Washington Island, and its 4 neighboring islands. With the ever-growing number of annual visitors to one of the Midwest’s most popular vacation destinations, the FM38 system should provide an added benefit for hams traveling to Door County.
